Need to run a windows accounting program in Late 2009 iMac

I have the above machine and would like to run a windows based accounting program that can run on either Windows 8 or 10. I dont have either so will have to buy whatever I choose. I am running High Sierra 10.13.6 with 12 GB of Ram. I am not the super tech type so lets put that out there. I will infrequently run this accounting software a couple times per month. I have an old Parallels 9/windows 7 this just creeps along and is basically worthless. Based on how infrequently I need it, what would be the best/cheapest/most convenient method to move forward? My system sometimes get hung up while restarting so I like the Parallels approach but I am very open to suggestions.

iMac 27", macOS 10.13

You can update Parallels and will also have to buy MS Windows 10. You can also run Windows without Parallels by using BootCamp to install Windows and your accounting app but then you either are in Windows or Mac OS which is unlike a virtual partition (Parallels) which allow you to run both OS's simultaneously.
