Can I still track my Airpods using Find my iPhone if they have been stolen?

I had my airpods in the charging case on a park and they have fallen out of my pocket and we think they have been stolen as the last place they was seen on find my iphone was on a different part to the park to where i was... can i still track them using find my iphone if they have been stolen or connected to a different device???
