Does a new phone from Apple come with a sim card?

I bought a new phone, SE 2, online from Apple today and I don't remember if I was asked what carrier I was using during the checkout process, I don't think so. Is my phone going to come with a sim card? I'm using an older model iphone right now and the sim card will not be capatable with the new phone. If it comes without a sim card what should i do? Should call Apple customer service and ask for one? I remember Apple customer service telling me that they could transfer my phone number from my carrier to the new phone but I don't remember what she said about how they are going to do it. I didn't buy the phone while I was talking to the customer service agent but bought it online later that day. Now I'm confused LOL
