Contact recovery

I did restore contacts via icloud - settings - additional - restore contacts and restored from the archive!

Half of the contacts are deleted - how to recover?

Were you following the instructions here -- If you accidentally deleted your calendars, bookmarks, or contacts from iCloud - Apple Support?

Yes. And it did not automatically create a copy of my new contacts - now I can’t restore it.
