Hide SSID
I often use internet sharing on my phone and it works really
well.
I have a question, why is it not possible to
disable broadcasting of SSID so the network becomes "hidden" for
others?

Connect Using USB
USB
Make sure that you have the latest version of iTunes on your Mac or PC. Then connect your iPhone or iPad to your computer with the USB cable that came with your device. If you see an alert that says tap "Trust This Computer?" tap Trust.

Hello again.
When I'm traveling or are on my ship I use network sharing on my phone, among other
things. my apple tv, ipad or my mac / pc.
Once you have paired the devices with the network, it remembers the ssid and password
and I do not feel the need for others to see my ssid and maybe try to log on to
my iPhone, so it would be nice to be able to hide it.

Hey.
That's not quite right, Android phones can hide the device see attached image.

Only the router provides the SSID. So only the router can hide the SSID.

Hello Hans-Otto,
aggreed, you can't hide the SSID of a mobile hot spot of an iPhone. But you need a password to get linked like with any other WiFi router or AP. So why to hide the SSID?

Hello again.
Is this something you can bring to your development department as a wish?
