Trade in question (Water Damage)

I have an iPhone X and I'm wanting to trade it in to get a different iPhone. The issue is the phone has water damage. The weird thing is, everything still works on it except one thing (I'll get into that). The camera is clear, buttons all work, no scratches or scrapes. I know it has water damage because of the red line in the sim card reader.

The only issue is whenever I put the my sim card in the sim card tray the phone cannot recognize the sim card. This is the only area the water damage affected the phone. I've used it for months on end without the sim card in and its been perfectly fine.

So this brings me to my questions...

Will Apple accept my phone at the full trade-in value despite this? Will they instantly discard it because of the water damage red line?
