Voice record pro stops recording

I’m using voice record pro to record on my Apple Watch. I usually cover the watch face with my hand or rotate my wrist to turn off the display. During this time (when the display is off) voice record would continue to record, however, I noticed recently that if my watch’s display is turned off voice record stops recording. Any ideas why this is happening and how to fix it, please and thanks? I know I can use the native Apple Watch “Voice memos”, which btw works/records when the display is off, however, it does not have all the other options from “voice record pro”....for example to safe a recording to Dropbox. Thanks!
