I want to save some of my audio messages as actual files I can transfer and keep on my computer instead of having to scroll and search for them in the text thread. Is there any way to do this? They use to save into voice memos, but no longer. Any help is appreciated! Thanks!

I understand from your post that you would like to save the audio messages from iMessage to your computer. If you are using a Mac and have Messages in iCloud enabled, you can save the audio file from the message to your Mac. Otherwise you will want to make sure the settings for Audio Messages under Settings > Messages > Audio Messages > Expire is set to Never.

Hey so according to the answer I marked as solving my question. I cannot find a way to save it as a file from the phone. On my macbook however, if you right click the audio text you can find it in the finder and download it that way and I was able to save the file!
I’m having the same issues both responses Ive gotten dont work. One said its saved as an attachment in the message but its not. The other said it saves them in voice memo but it doesnt. Good luck getting an answer. Its sucks there is no option to save in a certain location.
