Apple Watch not receiving text notifications from non-apple phones. Needing troubleshoot help.

My notifications work just fine for everything else. If my friends send me a text and they have iMessage turned on, I'll also get those text notifications.

This seems very specific to texts coming from android and other non-apple phones.

I already watched every video and discussion board on notifications and did all those including an unpairing of apple device from my watch.

I got it to briefly work where my sister (android phone) was able to text and I could get notifications. But then a few hours later her texts will come through on my phone no problem but they won't show up on my Apple Watch.

No, I'm not on my phone while she texts me. I'm off the phone and won't even know she texts me until after I've picked up my phone and see it show up on my lock screen.

anyone have any advice? Again, why is this so specific to all texts from people with non-apple phones?
