Is it safe to use the 61w charger with the new 2020 macbook air?

Wanted to have an extra and I purchased the 61w one instead of the 30w. Also, does it charge faster, or does it ultimately degrade the battery life?

If there's no benefit, I'll return it to save the $$

Thanks

It will work just fine. I don't know if it will charge faster. My guess is that it won't. But it will allow using peripherals that require more power than the 30 Watt charger can provide. I use an 87 Watt MBP charger on my MacBook and MBA.
