Install macOS Mojave application says it's damaged multiple times

I'm trying to install macOS Mojave but after I download the installation thing it says "This copy of the Install macOS Mojave.app application is damaged, and can't be used to install macOS."

I've tried deleting it from applications and redownloading it twice and it didn't work, I'm currently using high sierra.

ok, I fixed it. I made a copy of the "damaged" Install macOS Mojave.app application and then opened the copy and it worked.

I have no idea why that worked because the original copy was apparently damaged but it did.

I hope this might be of some use to people having the same problem.
