Removing 'ums' and 'errs'

Hi there,

I feel really silly asking this, but I have tried following the instructions from Apple support and haven't been able to do this! :(

Can anyone help please? - I am creating YouTube videos and new to using iMovies - I just want to do some simple editing, particularly cutting out fragments of video with 'umms' and 'errs' in order to make for a more sleek video.

I have been trying to cut the segment out that I don't want, and when I think I have done this, it seems to reappear.

I was wondering if anyone could shed some light on this or give me instructions that might help?

Many thanks,

Katt

You can do a Modify/Split Clip at the in point, and a Modify/Split Clip at the out point, and then delete the segment that you created in between the two points. That will remove the part that you don't want. It helps first to expand out your timeline with the little slider located next to the Settings Button to the right of the screen above the timeline.

You can also Modify/Split Clip at the in point, and then drag the edge of the trim the split-off segment to the out point to remove the part that you don't want. .
