home sharing not available

'Home Sharing' is not visible in my dropdown menu under 'File' when in iTunes

Is your computer authorized for your Apple ID and are you currently signed into the account? See Use Home Sharing to share media from a computer to other devices - Apple Support for details on setting it up.
