Bootable Installer

I bought a new MacBook Pro 16 inches, it was shipped with Catalina 10.15.2 originally, now I’ve erased its hard drive and trying to reinstall macOS Catalina using a bootable USB.

Must the macOS on the bootable USB be 10.15.2 and later or I can install any version of Catalina even if it was earlier then the one that the MacBook was shipped with, like 10.15?

Yes it would have to be 10.15.2 or newer.

Download Catalina from here, use the Safari browser, don't use Firefox for this.

How to upgrade to macOS Catalina – Apple Support

Go to Section 4 and click on Get macOS Catalina.

As Catalina is an 8.24GBs download a cabled connection rather than WiFi

will be more reliable.
