My iPhone prompted me to change my Apple password first thing when I opened my phone this morning. I don’t know if the prompt is really from Apple. It took me immediately to a keypad to enter my 6 digit passcode. I did not continue fu ether

My iPhone prompted me to change my Apple password first thing this morning. I have no idea why, and there is no explanation. Because of this unexpected request, I am hesitant to continue further on this path. I can go in thru settings and change it, which I may do because clearly, it is at risk.

Do you have access to another device/computer where you can change it?

Apple ID Password Change.

What to do after you change your Apple ID or password - Apple Support I suggest doing this before you change your Apple ID or password.
