Backup iPhone to Mac
I'm trying to backup my iPhone to my Mac (Catalina OS), but when I connect the iPhone to the Mac using the USB cable, it does not appear in the Finder window. What am I doing wrong?

If you check the diagram in step 5 just above “learn more” here, note you can automatically back up the iPhone whenever it’s connected to your Mac.

OK. I finally realized that I needed to go to the Finder menu, select View, then Show Sidebar. Then I could see my iPhone under Locations. Select the iPhone, then backup data to this Mac.
