Does anybody here have any experiences with Macbook Pro and Engineering programs like CAD, ANSYS, and etc...
I'm looking to buy a laptop for college and really like the Macbooks design, however I don't know how well it will work with those programs. I'm wondering if booting up windows on macbook for these programs will be good or not.
Contact the School of Engineering at the college you will be attending and ask for their recommendation. Not only will the computer need to run the apps but you will need to be 100% compatible with other students for team projects and with professors for assignments.
You'll be a lot happier if you can transfer your work seamlessly between your computer and the lab computers. You won't be happy spending hours in the lab needlessly.

For the school that I am going to, they also have computer labs specifically for these programs as well.
The school is UW-Madison.
