My phone temperature behaviour is abnormal I’m in the United Kingdom and the ambient temperature right now is 18c and just browsing the internet is making my iPhone run very warm
My issue resolved itself too. I wonder if the phone did a full backup after install. That's the only thing I can think of that would make it run so hot and drain the battery.
13.5.5 is on beta as of now (it’s installed and running on my phone) and seemed to have helped a little bit not much.
Yip I’m in Scotland so It’s not a outside temperature problem at 1am lucky if it was 8 Celsius. I’m convinced after reading all the replies and online that this problem is from the 13.5.1 update.
I shut my phone down and when i started it again the problem seems to have gone fingers crossed
I was experience same issue also.. using 11 pro max and always on call while sleep and causing serious heat after 1hour and 40minutes. Really notice the issue because before 13.5 this issue wasnt occurred on 13.4.1. Apple please check this issue
Same here on my iPhone 11 Pro. It gets hot under the same usage as before. When I charge my phone it gets really hot, even hotter if I am using at the same time. Halfway charging, I need to unplug because I don’t feel it is safe to continue charging!
I noticed that my battery life was cut in half after upgrading to iOS 13.5. That's what I noticed first. After reading these posts, I realize my phone is running hot. I did a reset (not factory) without any benefit. This is terrible. I have to always keep my phone plugged in now. Apple, fix this!
My iPhone 11 Pro Max started running extremely hot today - it’s about a day after I updated to iOS 13.5.1. The area directly beneath the camera lenses is extremely hot, and my battery health max capacity is 98%. I haven’t dropped the phone, it never got wet, nor have I installed new apps on it. I’ve had the iPhone ever since it came out and have never had an issue like this before.
I even attempted to do a factory reset without reinstalling my backup. I just wanted it to fully charge and cool down. It never did. It’s still running hot (it does still have iOS 13.5.1 installed).
Hi I am using 7 plus and while updating iOS 13.5 or 13.5.1 I am facing the issue on camera it show the overheating symbol and it’s shut down while I am trying to change my camera into canera1 or camera 2 and on front camera as well
I too eagerly updated the iOS 13.5.1 on my iPhone XS Max but no use . Because of overheating my Face ID is not functioning and moreover battery got drained very fastly.
I myself feel very bad after all buying such a world costliest phone which costs more than my one and half months salary . Even neither they do free service or free replacement.
I think apple can’t do anything for us . In this situation god only can help us.
Yes, exact same situation here. I purchased iPhone 11 Pro Max on first day of release...have never experienced this issue before until latest iOS update. Phone would continue to cut off calls, give overheating warning and instantly shut down.
Some other folks in this thread refer to 13.5.1 as still have this issue. Have you verified it’s solved on your end? I am updating as we speak so my device comes back from **** else I consider broken.
It’s sad that this has been the most generally used answer to the issues with our iPhones. It has nothing to do with the temperature. People’s phones are overheating, and the battery life has been terrible since the update.
Why would I turn off these services? It was behaving normally couple of days ago with those services on (except for location services as I always turn them off) .. this is a 1000$ phone (Xs) .. it should have these functions :) .. I will try though out of curiosity :D
