Hello Emily-xoxo,

I understand you're missing the Wi-Fi symbol in the status bar on your iPhone and are unsure if you're connected to Wi-Fi. I'd like to help you out with this.

Based off of the screenshot you provided, it does appear that you are successfully connected to Wi-Fi. The checkmark next to the router name shows which one you're connected to.

Now that it's confirmed you are connected to Wi-Fi, let’s see if we can resolve the issue with your symbol not appearing. I know it's important for that to show so that you can ensure you aren't using up your cellular data. The Wi-Fi symbol may not be appearing due to software/applications download to your iPhone. Try these steps:

  1. Check to see if you have VPN software installed by going to Settings > General > VPN. If you see a VPN listed there, temporarily remove it by tapping on the (i) and selecting Delete VPN.
  2. Go through your installed apps and see if you have any security software or private browsing/optimization apps installed. Some examples of these types of apps would be CloudFlare, Telegram, WeChat, and Fing. If you have any apps like this, temporarily remove them. If you aren't sure if one of the apps you have fall into this category but you know a specific app was downloaded right before this issue occurred, remove that app.
  3. Restart your iPhone after you have deleted a VPN or removed an app: Restart your iPhone.

If the Wi-Fi symbol reappears after those steps, you know whatever it was you removed/deleted was causing the issue. You can add the VPN or app back to your iPhone but be aware that it's possible the same thing may happen again.

Take care.
