Downloaded mac game not working? Help?

Hello, my son has purchased a game for the Mac laptop called “Doom and Destiny Advanced” for $4.95 and it has downloaded but when he tries to play it, you press start it freezes and then the app shuts down. I have no idea who to ask for help or who to complain to? He found it in the Mac App Store so assumed it as compatible. I’m annoyed for the wasted money and he’s frustrated with the game. Anyone know what we can do or who to follow this up with?
