Hi, I am having also this issue and in the article you mentioned it says: Battery health management is on by default when you buy a new Mac notebook with macOS 10.15.5, or after you upgrade to macOS 10.15.5 on a Mac notebook with Thunderbolt 3 ports.
Bad news for my MBP retina the last version before the Touch Bar version.

The article https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT211094 does not state that. You need just macOS 10.15.5.
As I recall, you need at least a 2016 MacBook Pro.
The documentation is incomplete. Apparently a Thunderbolt 3 equipped laptop is required.
