It does work, but patience is required. You have to wait out any time period(s) Apple notifies you about. The only option you have, and I would not pursue it because of the likelihood of data loss, is to Create a new Apple ID https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204316.
According to some posters, it can take days to weeks for the process to run its course.
What did it say when you checked the status of your recovery request -> Recover your Apple ID when you can’t reset your password - Apple Support
And making a new AppleID will have no affect at all on getting past activation lock on any device. The only way to disable activation lock requires being able to sign out of the AppleID used to set it up.
Yes, provided you could provide all the necessary information and Apple's system can verify it.
Okay Thanks for the information but i am willing to create a new apple id but my iphone is currently on Activation lock.Can i still create a new one and get past the lock?
Okay I understand but i am currently waiting on an update and then i added a different number to get the instructions from? You have any idea how long this will take?
It says I will get an update in 15 mins. That update is going to give me a date and time for recovery?
I have no idea what the update will include. All you can do is wait and see.
I just got the update and they said that I will be able to reset my password in 5 days. Could I count on that? Is this reliable?
