Can I use a single ECC 128GB Ram Stick in my Mac Pro 2019?

I want to upgrade the RAM of my 2019 Mac Pro. Can I get a single 128GB Ram Stick or does it need to have multiple ones.

Using Multiple modules has generally resulted in faster memory performance, because the modules would automatically interleave in some fashion. They would either by buddy-up wider or by every-other fetch comes from every-other module.

The documentation for replacing memory implies single module will work, but is only appropriate for debugging purposes.
