black screen of death

my macbook is able to turn on (the keyboard will click like its on) but it appears i have fallen victim to the black screen of death after nearly 15 years of using apple computers.

does anyone have any tips/tricks, especially in this age of quarantine, to maybe fix the issue?

Hi courtney_a95,

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities. I understand your computer is currently displaying a black screen while your keyboard is enabled. I'd be happy to assist.

I'd recommend you start by reseting both the SMC & NVRAM. Here are a couple resources that will help you with that process:

How to reset the SMC of your Mac

Reset NVRAM or PRAM on your Mac

If your issues persist after that your next step would be to Contact Apple Support for further assistance.

Enjoy your day.
