How to edit a document in Pages?

The first step would be to check the documentation.

For your question as written, look in the Help menu in Pages, and choose Pages Help.

In my version (likely older than yours) that brings up this menu page:

Each of the menu items in the left coumn can be expanded by clicking the disclosure triangle to the left of the item.

If, after reading the appropriate sections of the manual, you have more specific questions, please return and ask them here. We're happy to help, but we do need an indication of where to start.

Start here with online Pages support. Recommend the free Pages User Guide for Mac book in the Apple Book Store. Use the Apple Books application to access it.
