transfer music to newer ipod

I have an old nano 4 g ipod and am waiting for a slightly newer model to arrive. Once I receive that what's the best way to transfer my library to it? is it plug and play essentially? Or are there more steps?

All you will need to do is connect your newer iPod to your computer and synchronize your library.
