Immediate boot loop on ipod touch 7th gen

Just received an ipod touch 7th gen today. I have not been able to reach the setup screen as it was already in a boot loop. I've tried a forced restart and nothing has worked.

Update to iOS 12.5.6 for iPod touch 6th gen. The update for iOS 12.5.6 for my iPod touch 6th generation, causes my iPod to get stuck on restart and only shows the Apple logo, and doesn’t even show that unless I plug it to charge. Is there any solution to that? I just disabled the automatic update, and got it back on working fine only after recovering from my old system. My new MacBook Pro running Monterrey doesn’t even recognize the iPod when connected to it. Any suggestions on what to do, please? Thanks.
