how do i remove the passcode? i did all the steps in the article and it doesnt say.

If you follow all the instructions in that link you put the iPhone in Recovery mode while connected to the computer and Restore it from your backup. That removes the passcode.

If you forgot the passcode on your iPhone, or your iPhone is disabled - Apple Support

If you are in recovery mode and have the iTunes app open on your computer click on restore.

my phone is disabled and says to connect to itunes, but now i am on the recovery screen.
