My Apple watch will not update and the automatic notification will not go away. I have already tried all the steps listed on the Apple watch update page. I've updated my phone, I've turned my devices off and back on. The update indicator does not go away.

Thanks, I tried it several times but just as all my other attempts, I get the same message saying that it is unable to install the update because I am not connected to the internet. Bluetooth is on and it is connected to the internet (wifi). I've even tried the same install at my daughter's house with her wifi with the same result "you are not connected to the internet" I'm so frustrated.
I have an XR and ios 13.5
Thanks for sticking with this, I’ve given it two attempts, still unsuccessful. I get the message “update could not be verified, not connected to internet” Any other ideas?

Fieryjack- I just had to tell you, after all the help you gave me, today my phone did an update and the watch update indicator disappeared, finally! Go figure!! 😊

What phone and version of ios do you have?.
Try this;
On the phone;
Reset Network Settings in General>Reset>Reset Network Settings and try the update again.
Try updating from the watch itself again only this time turn off wifi on the watch,a few people have had success this way.
Well I'm out of ideas now,the only thing I can think of now is if you can try to pair it with another phone and see if you can update it there.
