Can I still import music from CDs into Apple Music?

I am using iTunes and Mohave OS. When I upgrade to Catalina, iTunes will change to Apple Music. I have many CDs I still need to download into iTunes that are NOT available in Apple music subscription (they are old classical performances).

I'm afraid to upgrade iTunes since I may lose the ability to download all my CDs. Is the a way around this?

As Terence points out, you still can. The procedure is essentially unchanged. Here it is: Import songs from CDs into Music on Mac - Apple Support

I strongly suggest that you rip the remaining CDs and make backups of the resulting audio files. CD drives are getting less and less common.
