Restored iPad asking for Apple ID and password that no longer exists.

Hello,

I own an iPad that I set up with an Apple ID that I later deleted. I restored the iPad, but now at the activation lock it is asking for me to enter that Apple ID and it’s password. Obviously whenever I enter the information it can’t process it because I deleted the ID. On Apple’s website it also says that no Apple ID exist when I type in my name and the email that was with the deleted Apple ID. How can I access my iPad without having to enter information for a nonexistent Apple ID. Please help.

Thank You

If you actually deleted the Apple ID, and not changed the email address that you use for your Apple ID, there is no way to get around activation lock because you would need to recover the old ID and password to unlock it.

What you can try to do is take the iPad and proof of purchase showing that you bought it, to an Apple a Store and ask for their help unlocking it. There really is no other option. Realizing that Apple Stores are just staring to open again, you may have to wait until a Store opens in your area.

I assumed that you tried that from what you originally posted.

When you change the email address that you use for your Apple ID, that does not delete your old Apple ID. If you create an entirely new Apple ID or if you actually deleted your old Apple ID, which is possible to do, then you would not be able to use the new credentials or recover the old Apple ID.

Your Apple ID email address is merely an identifier. It is just a name for your ID.

You can try using the credentials and see what happens.

EDIT - This is what I mean by changing your Apple ID. You can read this for an explanation.
