Safari doesn't ask for permission to send push notifications

I already checked:

  1. Safari > Preferences > Website > Notifications - is empty (This is important.)
  2. System Preferences > Notifications > Safari - is enabled to receive notifications (badge, sound, banner)

I have cleared the history and emptied the cache. still no website whatsoever asks for permission.

upon further investigations, I didn't find remotenotfications folder in ~library/safari/

I did a reinstall and still the same.

I know this seems rudimentary, considering your level of research it seems you've done. In Safari preferences - Website - Notifications, do you have the box check-marked near the bottom that says: Allow websites to ask for permission?

My notifications cache is completely blank and empty "No Configured Websites", but that's because I intentionally have that checkmark box unchecked below.

Hrmm, that is weird. Sorry it couldn't be as simple as that. I looked on another machine I have that does/did have notifications enable at one time, and there is a RemoteNotifications folder. (I uploaded a screenshot) It seems the Permissions.plist is ultimately what you'll want to be seeing if you ever get the underlying problem fixed.

Unfortunately, I'm stumped also. I tried searching for another support article but came up empty. Hopefully a higher level technician will come along and see your post and be able to be of more help. Sorry.
