Deleting photos does not clear disk space

I just deleted half of my Photos library, but the library is still the same size it was before. I also went to the "Recently Deleted" folder and clicked "Delete All," so they should all be permanently deleted. Here are a few things I attempted:

  1. Close the Photos application
  2. Repair de library
  3. Empty the trash bin

I don't know what else to do. Any ideas? One thing that may be good to know is that this is a migrated Aperture library. I am running Catalina 10.15.5 and Photos 5.0. Thanks.

I should be more clear: I don't particularly care about the disk space, I care about the library size. I am looking at the library size in the Finder. Also, I read somewhere that Photos updates the size of the file slowly, but it has been several hours since I deleted and there has been no change. I have also restarted the computer already.
