My iphone x is flashing the apple sign but not turning on

I can't get my iphone x to turn on. The apple sign is flashing when I try to turn on my device like it is about to turn on but never does. The device will turn off it i hit the up volume button then down volume button and hold the side the button. Any ideas on what is wrong with my device and how to fix please? Thanks so much for the help
