Icloud accidentally locked

Hello,

I'm trying to help a good friend of mine - he forgot the APPLE ID password and accidentally locked his iPhone and ICLOUD.

But the phone number that updated in ICLOUD is an old number and we do not have that number.

Is there another way to reset ICLOUD?

If not - how do I unlock the iPhone and connect with a new APPLEID?

If you create/use a new Apple ID, you will lose access to some of your data and the purchases made with your existing Apple ID.

See if you can get an email option.

Enter the Apple (iCloud) ID and click Forgot Password.

If they have 2 Factor Authentication enabled, they can do account recovery.

When you used iForgot, were you instructed to try to answer the pertinent security questions? What happened when you tried?
