Why can't I have movie posters in the TV app?

I have no intention of going through my entire movie library consisting of thousands of movies and changing all that artwork back to the correct poster manually.
You couldn’t if you tried. All posters are presented in wide format now, regardless of source aspect ratio.
When you add this …
… it gets rendered like this in the Apple TV app:

No thumbnail pics? Troubleshoot your network or force quit the app & restart your device
Those "thumbnail pics" are not movie posters!
Sorry you misunderstood my issue.
I want my movies in Catalina to be represented by the poster created by the studios for those movies, not some "made-up" and hacked version of those posters.
All my movies in Itunes displayed the correct posters as designed by the studio art department.
This is not an app issue, it's a design flaw intentionally put in the app.

Correct, so I won‘t “upgrade” to Catalina now. If Apple refuses to allow me to use the correct posters, I’ll switch to Plex.
this is the second time Apple has made a big change that ended up being worse, the first being the “update” to Pages.
That program is now a joke, with most of its great features removed in favor of some IOS features that have marginal value.
i sent a feature request to their web site about this poster issue but of course they don’t respond.
Other then to placate to millennials who like their tv screen filled, and think movies and TV shows are the same thing, I don’t see any advantage to this new format, it looks ugly and movies are harder to find in your library.
I’m so sorry that Apple made this decision.
Thank you for the reply.
Hello Urguhart1244:
I've been doing some "research" on the net and found a program called Retroactive.
It seem it will allow me to run ITunes on my Mac after I switch to Catalina!
Its freeware so that's not an issue.
If what i've learned so far is true, I will be able to keep my movie library (with correct posters) on the new OS just as before!
I want to discuss this with people who have already installed it.
This could be the answer to my dreams...all the features of the new OS and keep my posters as the film makers intended them to be.
I wish Apple would adopt this technology for Catalina natively but They have apparently already made their decision so they
have little interest in making these changes.
Home Videos do not get a movie poster.
Change the Media Kind to Movie or TV show to add artwork.
