My computer is running out of space. It says Photos is taking up 14.65 GB. How can that be, if I save my photos on iCloud Storage?

The iCloud Library is only a syncing feature and is not off computer storage. All items in the iCloud Library are mirrored in your local library. Delete a photo in one and it gets deleted in the other as well.

You can enable "Optimize Mac Storage" and when the free space gets down to a minimum amount reduced size versions of the originals will be used locally while the full sized originals are in the iCloud Library.
