Deleted Text Messages / Settings>General>Iphone Storage> Shows still Archived

I have an Iphone-7, and my spouse changed shared passwords to Icloud and Itunes. Spouse also deleted all historical text messages from May 11, 2020. I do see messages archived in Settings>General>Iphone Storage> 4.92Gb. I do not want to loose any text messages since i may need those for a potential divorce. (1) How can i save iphone storage of 4.92Gb to a back-up device (USB stick or SSD drive). (2) Upload the archived 4.92GB back onto my Iphone. I would really appreciated support to both questions since I will need to hand back iphone-7 to sprint.

If you were using iCloud Syncing for messages, any deleted messages are gone for good.

If you were not using iCloud Syncing and you have a back up that contains those messages, you can restore your phone from that back up.

Note that restoring your phone from a back up will overwrite everything on it now.
