iPad rings

How come my iPad sometimes rings when I get a phone call on my iPhone and other times the iPad does not ring ?

Hello,

When iPad’s display is turned on and your iPhone is turned off then calls will ring on the iPad. If you are not using your iPad then your iPhone will present the call first.
