ASUS external DVD player not reading DVDs

please help me! I have the new 2020 MacBook Pro and im trying to watch a movie with my new ASUS U9M drive but its not taking to the DVDs I've checked with other devices and the DVD is fine, plus I used a CD on the MacBook Pro and it had no problem reading and burning it onto iTunes. but when I try to the computer veto play the DVD it just spits the DVD back out. am I doing something wrong? I hope im not the only one with this problem.

I have Asus model abc-06d2x-u

It was playing for my old MacBook Pro 2015. but it won't play on my new MacBook Pro 2019.

can apple support?
