WatchOs 6.2.6 Draining Battery

After upgrading to a version of watchOs 6.2.6, my 40mm 4 series apple watch is already running late and does not reach 6 hours ... Before version 6.2.5 for 2 days, as settings No changes have been made, no apps was installed the most !! Have I done the procedure to restore the Apple watch and open as new without starting the backup and continue to drain the battery further ??? Do you want a note of clarification about the software you are making available, this is making my Apple watch so useless!?

friend, your battery is already gone, look what it says on the apple page:

Apple Watch Owners

Your battery is designed to retain up to 80% of its original capacity at 1000 complete charge cycles. The one-year warranty (for Apple Watch and Apple Watch Sport) and two-year warranty (for Apple Watch Edition) include service coverage for a defective battery. If it is out of warranty, Apple offers a battery service. Prices and terms may vary.

may even have corrected the bug, but with a thousand cycles of almost battery already gave the useful life, the right would be to replace itself !! my apple watch is serie 4 !! yours is the 2, I believe that your battery lasted well, but it was already its useful life !!

I don't know why you still insist on correcting the battery if it has 1000 cycles !! it was already the useful life of your battery, of a researched on the apple page that you will see what I told you more I will reinforce to you:

I came back here to say what solved my problem ... when I put my watch in airplane mode, I noticed that it cut the signals in 2 seconds and reconnected only with the bluetooh signal with the iphone !! I went into the settings through the watch in bluetooth and noticed that the signal was not being cut (bug ??? I believe it was) I cut the signal and took it out of airplane mode and put it back on, solved the problem that was draining the battery !!! The battery returned to behave normal 🙏🏻 I let it discharge until it reached 10% and charged again up to 100%, making text already 2h I'm using and it is at 100% load, normalized or bug !!! I hope that if someone has this problem 😃

do a test like I did on mine, when your apple watch is plugged into your iphone, put the watch in display mode and have some problems a second did you get to check if the connection was cut 100%! on my gear, it runs or the signal has a red battery design for 2 seconds and turns green again in airplane mode !! if it is like the same bug as my battery, you will see in the settings on the watch still in airplane mode and disconnected or blueethoot. then check at your central again if the connection is completely cut in the battery cut in the middle in red !! in my case it was this q solve friend, I hope I helped, sorry my English I'm from Brazil !! my watch I use moderately with the limits in the minimum configurations, yesterday I unplugged at 9 am and turned off at 12:00 pm ... I called today at 9:30 am now it is 16:47 pm the battery is 46% longer than than before !!!

I think I am following your direction Mellon. I am trying now. So far I have put the watch in Airplane mode and turned off Bluetooth. Testing the watch for about 20 minutes so far with no battery loss. I'm at 25% battery life left after about 8 hours of use today. I will turn on Bluetooth and turn off airplane mode in another 10 minutes and charge the watch to 100%. Hopefully I see the same fix you did!

when you put it in airplane mode and you were connecting with your iphone like or mine was? if so, and you have already turned off bluethoot, then you need to disconnect from airplane mode and test again to see if the connection is totally cut off !! my record I loaded it yesterday morning !! the battery as I said, is working more than it worked before !!! I hope you solve this bug as I did, and working back and communicate here 👍🏻

I would say the results are a bit mixed. So I did what Melon suggested with the airplane mode then cutting Bluetooth on the watch. I left my watch in that state for a half hour and turned back on. I powered off the phone and the watch for another 15 minutes and turned back on. I believe I am getting a small improvement in battery life.

I am no where near a new, Apple Watch version 3’s performance as birth my wife and daughter got new watches that month. I just put my watch on the charger after being out with the family since 6am this morning. So after 8 hours of wrist time I was at 57% remaining while my wife was at 82%.

I have reset the watch twice and unpaired twice. In addition I have made many power saving adjustments. The common ones that Apple suggests. I’m going to have to get a new watch soon. I’m nearing 1,000 battery cycles so I’m guessing it is dying. Strange that Apple told me the battery still passed the diagnostic test. 🤷‍♂️

Unbelievable. I removed all the apps I thought might be draining. restored. etc etc etc. THIS IS AN APPLE SOFTWARE ISSUE. PLEASE FIX!! I really think apple needs to think about the apple watch updates more like firmware updates. Released less often and fully vetted. As consumers we shouldn't have to worry that every new software update might render our watches useless. Come on.

after doing this procedure above, check if when cutting the signal in bluetooth airplane mode on your watch control center if it is cutting the signal, wait a while to see if the battery above turns red to have the crtz q the signal is being properly cut, use your normal apple watch and charge up to 100% and see if the battery normalized sound this procedure!I hope you can do it like I did and other people I helped with the same problem !! good luck :)

So let me ask the board one final question....if I have had an Apple 2 Nike edition since December of 2017, is it worth replacing the battery at $80 versus upgrading to an Apple Watch 3? I don't need another device that I need to pay $300 every 2 years. I'm worried that the battery is draining because of the newest software update and not the battery itself since Apple told me it passed the diagnostic.

Jun 9, 2020 6:42 PM in response to MCC_1277

you told me that your battery is already close to the 1000 cycle !! your apple watch, series 2, if it were, I would exchange it for a newer watch, but there you go! if you have $ to invest, if you don't change the battery, more than 1000 cycles for sure your battery has already given useful life !! if you tried to fix the bug and noticed that nothing worked, that's why apple's diagnosis shows that it's normal! already spent enough, it's time to change! I helped a person with the same problem as me on youtube and hers was an Apple Watch 2, the person normalized with the same procedure as mine !! most certainly her battery was not with 1000 cycles!

Apple Watch Series 3 non-cellular - Having the same issue (greater battery drain), my habits have not changed but my battery is down. Prior to 6.2.6 with my typical day including 30-60 mins of "exercise" being tracked I'd end the day at 35-40% battery, on the lower side of the scale. After 6.2.6 with the same daily routine I am ending the day at 10-12%. Perhaps there is an adjustment period with a new OS and in time it will be fine?

Jun 10, 2020 9:24 AM in response to Scott B_1

In one place, if you use your Apple Watch until the battery runs out, you're using it wrong, it will drain the battery! the right thing is to reach 15% to 10% of the battery and charge it, if you always leave the battery charging, you are forcing to ruin the clock! research on lithium ion batteries for any equipment that uses this type of battery should not be discharged 100%

Second, your Apple Watch has 1000 charge cycles, which, according to an apple, has already given 80% of the battery life !!! I believe you already used the watch a lot and want it to be the same when you bought it! 1000 charge cycles, replace this battery if you did the procedure and nothing else improves, the battery has expired! call apple support and ask about 1000 charge cycles if your battery should be new again! I believe that you will only solve your problem by replacing the battery with a new one!
