Apple accounts and updates

I lived in the US and had an Apple account. When I moved back to the UK I was asked to create a new apple account which I did and so far all is fine although it was complicated to have all the content of the cloud transferred from the US account to the UK one and had to do so with the help of an Apple technician. So far I keep receiving window requests to update my old US apple account by entering my password, particularly after each upgrade or update by Apple. I only use my UK apple account and wish to stop having the info requirement since my US Apple account has been deleted. When I go to the autofill section or my account information, the old account is not visible. Any suggestion?

Thanks

I think this is your problem. See What to do when the Mac App Store shows a different Apple ID for software updates https://www.macworld.com/article/3267709/mac-app-store-apple-id.html This document refers to a prior owner, but is also applies to cases where a current owner's old Apple ID is a problem.

Basically, If an app is purchased/downloaded using one Apple ID, then you can't update it with another Apple ID. The app is inextricably linked to the first Apple ID. You'll have to delete it and repurchase/download it again with the second Apple ID.

Thanks for your prompt answer and suggestion. I have already updated all the apps or bought the ones that could not be kept from my US apple account when I moved back to the UK. The only time when the window seems to appear asking for the password with the old email address linked to my then US apple account - both no longer existing, is when for exemple the IOS is updated etc. Mind it could be that I may have missed deleting an app downloaded when I was in the US, however, the issue seems to appear when the IOS is updated. 🤷🏻‍♀️ Thanks in any case.
