I keep getting an error when trying to log into my Apple ID saying “verification failed, The application you have selected does not exist”
this is on my iPhone 8, iPad Air 2, and iPad mini 2.

I'm also experiencing this today (June 2, 2020), but on a Mac.
Maybe some more detail that could help: this morning I got an error "Your Apple ID has been disabled for security reasons." Not entirely sure what happened, I went through the recommended steps and reset my password on a MacBook Pro (2019 - work laptop), and then logged in to AppleID/iCloud again. I repeated this on my iPhone XS successfully. I was also able to log in to my AppleTV successfully.
This evening, I opened up my MacBook Pro (2015 - personal laptop) and got prompted to log back in with Apple ID - not surprising. But I got the "The application you have selected does not exist" error repeatedly. I rebooted also. No luck.
Edit: There is indeed an issue ongoing - if you look at https://www.apple.com/ca/support/systemstatus/ - there is an outage listed:

(note that's EDT, so the issue was known almost 2hrs prior to the original post, and almost 3hrs from now.
Having the same issue on my iPhone XS Max.
The only noteworthy thing I have done today was to upgrade from iOS 13.5 to iOS 13.5.1.
I had that on my phone and on my computer. It keeps "reloading"

I'm having the same issue on my iPhone 11 with two different Apple IDs.
The same thing is happening to me. I’ve restarted, hard restarted, turned off WiFi, changed passwords and it’s still doing it.
As there are multiple people who clicked " i have this question too" of this thread made today, I'm guessing this is some kind of a bug. I am following this too.
I am getting this on my iPhone XS Max as well as my desktop iTunes account! I tried to sign into my daughter's account and got the same error.
I am also getting the same warning on all devices including my Mac Mini. I was trying to wipe my old phone when it gave me the error code.

Apple ID is doing the same to me on my XS Max and Ipad pro....
Im facing similar problem. It logged me out from my apple id from both my mac and iPhone. i rested my apple id password twice still not working. Need help!!
