Plugging in iPhone X earphones

Hi

im getting a MacBook Pro. In the specs there is a headphone port and 2 thunderbolt ports. Can my iPhone X earphones be plugged into the thunderbolt ports so I can listen to lectures. The earphones that come with new iPhones are now with lightening and not the normal headphone bit. Can they be plugged into the thunderbolt ports or do I need an adapter??

i spoke to someone at Apple and she says they go into the thunderbolt port but I’m not so sure they do.

please help

In my opinion, you are probably better off buying a pair of traditional earphones with a 3.5mm pin to use with the headphone port available on your new MacBook Pro.

If you must use the iPhone X earphones then you will need to use the thunderbolt 3 port with this adapter ➔ Lightning to USB-C Adapter. I must admit that it was difficult to find this adapter especially something with a female lightning receptacle.
