Apple ID session timed out after authentication

I cannot connect or stay connected to apple ID page.

I get the message: "This session has timed out for your security" right after (1-2 seconds most of the time, 1-2 minutes once) entering authentication code.

Really annoying.

This session has timed out for your security I'm trying to log in appleid.apple.com. It accepts my username and password and brings up the site, but a second later it says 'This session has timed out for your security' and kicks me out. I've tried on Safari, Chrome, and Edge (on a PC). Same result everywhere. I searched for the string above, and one article mentioned that it might be a browser plug-in. I've disabled all of them, but I still get the same result.

Sign In with Apple ID does not work with security keys I've enabled and added 3 security keys to my Apple account. Logging in the web or device to iCloud/AppleID portal works flawless. But if I try to login to a 3rd party service that uses the Sign In with Apple in a non-Safari browser I never get a prompt for the security key and instead I'm getting an error "Your request could not be completed because of an error. Please try again later.". In Safari it works as it prompts for TouchID. Is this a known issue of using Security Keys in your Apple account?

unlock session timed out When I try to login to AppleID, I get locked message - This Apple ID has been locked for security reasons. OK, I try to unlock it (on desktop), choose email, get the email, click the link in email, the email is good, and leads me to happy sounding page Ready to Unlock As soon as I click Unlock, I get error Your session has timed out. And the only option seems to repeat everything again - leading to same result. So I'm locked out of AppleID (using a different one here to post the question), with no apparent way to fix it. Any ideas what to do here?

There was a server problem that now appears to be fixed.
