I am afraid that 2010, 1st generation iPad is just too old, now!
This is an over 10-year old device, now!
At this very late date, that iPad is pretty much useless.
Apple stopped supporting this iPad ONLY after one year of updates because the 2010 iPad's internal hardware was very underpowered, even for that time!
The Safari Web browser on that 10-year old iPad is over 9-years old without any more updates.
Third party app developers completely abandoned their support for this iPad when 64-bit hardware/software code was first being introduced by Apple in 2016 with the development and eventual introduction of iOS 11.
So, no more third party apps have been available for that iPad for the last 4-5 years.
As of this year, in 2020, many, MANY third party app developers are now abandoning app support for all other older iPads that can only run iOS 9 and 10!
So, no more apps for any iPads that are 8, 9 and 10-years old.
Both Apple and third party app/software developers DO NOT want to support these old iPad models, any longer.
Also, I would not trust that Safari Web browser for any activity online, as it is, more than likely, NOT safe or secure to use online, any longer.
Time for a new or much newer iPad, now!
Apple supports new iPad models for up to 5-6 years with third party app developers supporting these iPads for another, additional 2-3 years after!
So, that is a total of between 7-9 years of iPad/iOS support!
Older iPad models, like the iPad 2, 3, 4 and 1st gen iPad Mini have ALL reached this support limit!
You need to purchase a new iPad from Apple or a discounted, refurbished iPad from Apple’s Refurbished & Clearance section of Apple’s Website or a new or refurbished iPad from an Apple authorised, third party retail or online reseller OR other trusted sources for new and/or used Apple products.
A lot has happened with iPad and iOS in 8-10 years and in the past 2 to 3-1/2 years since iOS 9 and 10, much less iOS 5.1.1.
As an example and compared to that 10-years old iPad model,
The cheapest, baseline 2019, 10.2 inch screen 7th gen Apple iPads have a 1/2 inch larger retina screen, newer, more powerful and nearly 2-1/2 times faster 2.3 Ghz, A10 Fusion processors, AT LEAST, 12 times the internal RAM, with the 2019, 7th gen iPad having 3 GBs of internal RAM, iPadOS 13 support, with many multitasking features, Apple Pencil and Apple Smart keyboard cover support and have better audio speakers and better/improved built-in cameras for taking images and using FaceTime video communications.
The 2010 iPad has NO cameras, at all!
New iPads have had 10 years to keep getting better and better.
In addition, if you search online and look at various, reputable online Apple device resellers, you can usually find this 2019, 7th gen iPad at discounts of between $60 U.S.D and $100 U.S.D. depending on storage size and whether it is a WiFi ONLY model or a WiFi/cellular data model.
This is the harsh reality for these 8 and 9-year old, OR OLDER, iOS devices, now!
Sorry & Best of Luck to You!
