MacBook Air & Airpod Pro "Connection Failed"

I have a macbook air (running Catalina 10.15.4) and I am trying to connect the airpod pro (version 2). I can connect the airpod pro to my iphone 11, but it says "connection failed" when connecting to the macbook air. How do I fix this?

MacBook Air 13″, macOS 10.15

Thank you for the link. I ended up restarting the laptop and then it allowed me to connect.
