Can you describe what you lost from where?

Many people fail to read the pages of the Startup Assistant and enable Desktop & Documents in iCloud Drive.

Look under iCloud Drive for you Desktop & Documents folders if that is what you lost.

If you stored files outside of your home folder, look in the Relocated Items folder in /Users/Shared.

You should move them from there into your Home folder.

LOST ALL DATA IN ONE MAIN FOLDER AT THE DESKTOP BUT THE OTHER FOLDERS STILL THERE!

DEAR ALL, HELP ME PLEASE!

I am using the Mac book Pro 13inch 2017.

1.     Last week, I close my Mac without turning off because of waiting for system update at the night. The next day it is say that “my Mac is up to date – macOS Catalina 10.15.5”

2.     I have one MAIN FOLDER at the desktop (Folder A). There are so many other folders and files inside Folder A (including photos, videos, important documents…). When I tried to open Folder A, all the data was LOST. I found one small folder “download” there and its empty too. But other folders at the desktop still there.

3.     I’ve tried to look at Library/System Migration/History or Users/Shared/Located Items but find nothing. Located Items only show a file name “what are relocated items.pdf”.  Even I’ve tried to check all the folder at Macintosh HD or use Spotlight Search but I could not find any file in Folder A before.

4.     My computer has not backed up to USB yet so when I run Time Machine, there is no timeline before Today.

5.     I tried using a series of Free Data Recovery Apps like Stellar, Recover it, Easy US or Disk Drill, but I only found the files I DELETED but could not find the LOST DATA in Folder A. It looked like it was not delete, that’s why I did not find and recovery them. But I have no idea where they are.

6.     It only shows more than 100GB when I checked Get info of Macintosh HD. But my Folder A also bigger than 300GB.

Do you know where all the data of Folder A is?

And what should I do in this case? Help me please!!!

Thank you very much.
