Mac Pro running 10.13.6 has started kernel panicking frequently / AppleOSXWatchdog

It seems to be happening frequently when the machine is idling and occasionally when I'm using it. Any thoughts? This is quite troubling.

This error seems to happen a lot on Catalina systems, but you appear to be on High Sierra.

com.google.drivefs.filesystems.dfsfuse  39.0.10
com.sophos.kext.oas 9.9.4
at.obdev.nke.LittleSnitch   5470

You have the above kernel extensions installed.

I would suggest uninstalling them using the vendor uninstall instructions, and run that way for a while and see if the panics continue.

Also if you have external devices attached, try detaching them. If some of the external devices are USB keyboard and mice, see if you can use a substitute keyboard and/or mouse for a test period to see if the problem goes away.

If eliminating all of the above still has the problem happening, then you know it wasn't those items.

If the problem goes away, then you can start by re-installing the stuff you absolutely need 1 at a time and run that way to be sure it does come back before installing the next item.

Suggest you stop the 3rd party anti-virus, and just depend on Apple's built-in XProtect, code signing, and SIP protections.

Were you by any chance also running Time Machine backup?

Someone at work thinks Time Machine maybe a common trigger for some users. I'm just trying to gather any supporting evidence, or refute the claim so time is not wasted looking explicitly at Time Machine, but maybe on the conditions running Time Machine creates, and then see if there are other apps that create similar conditions.

On the other hand, your USB device theory could apply to Time Machine, as Time Machine often has a USB disk plugged in, so maybe it is USB bus oriented.

Anyway, I would be interested in what information you can pass along.
