No compatiple printer installed

I went to the drivers and files page for our Canon Pixma MP470 to see if any

drivers were needed for macOS El Capitan. None were shown but Easy

Photprint was shown, so I downloaded it and then installed it. When I

tried to run it I get a no compatiple printer is installed error message.

Funny, the printer shows up in El Capitan plain as day. What's up, Doc?

This is a link to the drivers page for the Canon MP470 https://www.canon.co.uk/support/consumer_products/products/fax__multifunctionals/inkjet/pixma_mp_series/pixma_mp470.html?type=drivers&language=en&os=os%20x%2010.11%20(el%20capitan)

As you can see there are no drivers available for that model and in the list below the last drivers available

were for Mac OS X 10.9 Mavericks.

When you say the printer shows up in El Capitan, what does that mean, where does it should up.

In System Preferences> Printers & Scanners, and if so does it not offer any functionality.

Have a look at this page, http://gimp-print.sourceforge.net/MacOSX.php

where you can download a .dmg package that may contain drivers that will

work with your printer. Some reading will be required.

For it to work with El Capitan you need to download 5.2.11 or above.
